We just had to send you this picture! These are our two toothless, revered yia yias (grandmas) in the Branch. Sister Anastasia Koutouri on the left and Rosa on the right. Neither of them can remember hardly a thing, but they were so happy to see each other at church last Sunday.
This is a view of the castle in Kavala. Early ruins are from Roman times. The remnants of this castle are from Byzantine days. This was the day we drove to Kavala and picked up President and Sister Charles.

The elderly man on the left is our regular street sweeper. We see him with his broom and dustpan cleaning up the curbs and gutters. It seems archaic, but with the way the cars are parked, it's probably as efficient as any way and gives more people jobs.

Our very windy Clean Monday. We didn't see many kites in the air, but did see a few in the trees.

A little boy and his mom trying to get their kite up in the air down on the paralia.

I took this picture so I will always remember the graffiti. The graffiti is everywhere and they don't seem to make any effort to remove it. To us, it's unsightly, but it almost seems an art form here. Some of it is pretty artistic. (Not to my taste, however.) One of our missionaries from Italy told us that this is one of his hobbies!!!

A windy street corner near our apartment where they were selling kites on Clean Monday.

January 19th, a very cold and rainy day when Jacob was baptised. He came out of the water shouting, "I'm born again. I'm born again." He was very happy.

This is the little fishing boat that belongs to the restaurant owner where Alexandros, the church landlord, took us to lunch in Halkidiki. The owner goes out and catches the fish/seafood and brings it back and cooks it in the restaurant.

A picture of Alexandros, Elder and Sister Johnson, and the restaurant proprietor/fisherman and his wife in the restaurant where we had our cultural dining experience, eating shrimp, squid, octopus and tongue fish.
This beautiful bouganvilla took my breath away. This is January in Halkidiki. This building was next door to where Alexandros and his family have a summer home.

There is a big luxury hotel in this resort and a big marina where we saw many luxurious looking yachts. This was was so sleek and metallic---it looked like it belonged to 007.

Alexandros, Elder Middleton, Elder Kroll and Sister Johnson at the marina with some of the nice boats and the luxury hotel behind us.

It looks like you are having so much fun on your mission--just kidding. Thought I would have some fun messing with your minds since that is what prompted me to stop telling people about our rare day trips.
